#InThisTogther AND I’M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT COVID-19! 🙏🏾- I don’t know why as I’m aging I’m getting shyer. But the photo below of me in this flyer is one of my pageant photos ❤️. It’s been a battle for me to even acknowledge a pageant right now because of what all is going on. But what I do know is that my heart and dedication to Mental Health Awareness have not ceased. In reality, it was one of the main reasons why I started my blog.
The Pageant was and is a resource to help me garner attention around the fact that “SUICIDE” is the 10th leading cause of death in America and Nevada have more people die from suicide than homicide and Motor Vehicle Accident Deaths COMBINED. Additionally, more people die by suicide than by chronic liver disease and kidney disease.
MY GOAL? To increase awareness, create a safe place for people to talk about it, and let people know that it’s okay to ask for help. Check this out. Many think the weak are the ones that kill themselves when in reality it’s our CEOs, our ”
Bosses” that want to escape and can’t handle the so-called “shame of failing or shame from a trauma.”
Today, I was told by a family member that someone she knew had someone very dear commit suicide and no one really knows why. The reality is, most people don’t know why and never will because that person kept everything inside. Even sadder, he left behind a 17-year-old son that has to deal with the fact that his father “killed himself.” Yes, I’m in tears sharing this story. — If you are judging… don’t because it isn’t as simple as you think.
IT’S REAL PEOPLE.
So please join me as I share my story. Something I thought I would never do. I really don’t know how much I will share or exactly what but I pray that it creates more awareness and remind people there are resources available. Also, please don’t jump
to conclusions of what my story is, instead join us!
It is called Fancy Fridays. So bring it! If you know me. It doesn’t take much for me to get Fancy!

Hosted by Solutions of Change, a fairly new organization that supports the uninsured so they can receive help. What a great event to start off Mental Health Awareness Month. I’m nervous, somewhat afraid but my desire to remove the stigma is greater. See you at 5:30 pm.
Find out more about Solutions of Change and why I want to help raise funds to support their initiative.
