We wait and wait and wait. Waiting until the timing is perfect until things just seem like it’s the right time, the perfect time. As if, there is something called perfection. Because I will tell you right now, there is NOTHING THAT WILL EVER BE COMPLETELY PERFECT. If we wait until our website is perfect, our blog is perfect, our life is perfect, the situation is perfect, guess what? We will be waiting forever.
At some point, you just have to take that leap. And guess what, you may fall and hit some hard parts on that cliff. But if you trust in yourself, you will learn to soar! There are people that have hit the bottom, in other words, FAILED and gotten back up and done some extraordinary things!
- Oprah Winfrey: Fired at the age of 22 from a local TV station. When everything fell apart she had the determination to persevere and all the soul-searching paid off! She is now a powerful business woman AND a billionaire.
Sylvester Stallone: Doors were slammed in his face over and over again. He was even offered $350,00 for his film and he turned it down until he was able to play the leading role! The film “Rocky” became a massive success. Nothing comes easy especially when no one may believe in you!
- Steve Jobs: Come on… this man was kicked out of the very company he started. Previously, a college dropout. But being fired from Apple was one of the best things that had ever happened to him. After returning and taking over Apple, he took that company to a whole new level. What if he would have allowed his bitterness to control him or said screw Apple? We have to learn to let it go… and just seize the opportunity and prove them wrong!
Okay, so do you hear me now? If you are still not there… keep reading, I believe in you!
Don’t let your biggest regrets in life be I wish I would of could of. Don’t do that to yourself, stop doing that to yourself, right now! I know that the fall will cause some bruises. It may even cause some pain, some anger and possibly bitterness. But you will heal. As an athlete myself, I remember growing up and hearing, no pain no gain. Guess what guys! It’s like that with our life choices as well. Nothing great comes easy! I know you know that. So why is it so hard to still take that jump?
I can tell you why. Because many of us grew up trying to be perfect. No faults to our parents but in their eyes, their job was to protect us. They wanted us to be our best, so in some areas, they placed too much pressure on us and in others, they shielded us. I remember going to a leadership training and hearing Andy Stanley say how he sat down for dinner with his kids and he asked them. how did you fail today? And hearing that blew my mind! How did I fail today? What… I was taught that failing was not okay. But it’s quite the contrary. Failing means, I did something different or that I tried it and I just need to work harder. Failure means…. simply saying….
“I WILL NOT LET FEAR STOP ME.”
”I TRIED SOMETHING DIFFERENT TODAY! Yay Me!”
So no more being afraid! No more worrying about what people think. Let’s just put on our big girl panties or draws and take that leap of faith. JUMP! What’s the worse thing that can happen? You fail? Okay… so what? Do you know what’s worse than that? Never trying and regretting it forever. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. Still not impossible but you begin to keep feeding your mind lies on why it’s too late to do it now. It’s NEVER too late!
I don’t know about you, but life is just too short for me to do or believe that anymore. So I decided to jump! My blog isn’t perfect, everything isn’t exactly the way it is supposed to be, but guess what… I’m starting it anyways! And although this blog isn’t perfect, right now at this moment, the decision to just say what the heck and begin… now that’s the perfect way of thinking! Seize the moment because as we know, tomorrow… well there is just no guarantees. You’ve been wanting to start something, do something, be something. Guys and Gals… just do it! Being who you are called to be and doing what inspires you is the GREATEST FEELING OF ALL TIMES (GFOAT).

“I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” – Steve Jobs
